*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported:
ubuntu should automatically tell the user if there are updates available. i dont always check update manager and there should be some sort of ubuntu telling the user if there are updates available. i also miss update manager telling me exactly how many updates are available and when it was last refreshed [even if there are updates available]. I'm marking this as a security vulnerability because if there is a security update available, and the user does not know about it, there is a problem. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Visibility changed to: Public ** Description changed: - there should be a way to tell if there are updates available. i dont - always check update manager and there should be some sort of way to tell - if there are updates available. i also miss update manager telling me - exactly how many updates are available and when it was last refreshed - [even if there are updates available].
