How are we supposed to active it? I have just tested and HDMI sound output is not working here. I'm using a DELL XPS M1330 laptop. Kernel: Linux chris-xps 2.6.28-11-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 17 20:34:52 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux I'm using an intel video card with up-to-date driver (2.6.3-0ubuntu1). in kmixer, everything is up and nothing is mute (including IEC958). Default behavior is that the video is on the TV but the sound is on the laptop. I used KDE systemsettings to edit multimedia settings and I saw that I had the following audio output order for video playback: 1) HDA intel (STAC92xx Analog) 2) HDA intel, INTEL HDMI (HDMI audio output) 3) PulseAudio If I move HDMI audio output to first position then I get no sound on the TV (neither on the laptop). $ lsmod | grep hd snd_hda_intel 435508 4 snd_pcm 82820 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss snd 62628 13 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer snd_page_alloc 16904 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm $ sudo modprobe snd-hda-codec-intelhdmi FATAL: Module snd_hda_codec_intelhdmi not found
I have kernel backports installed. ** Attachment added: "lspci -nnvv output" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24064443/lspci.txt -- backport Intel HDA HDMI audio support from 2.6.29 to Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320423 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
