In Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy I did an apt-get remove xchat-gnome This error message appears when clicking the xchat-gnome menu entry afterwards. So this bug is not gnome-app-install specific, adding apt task.
The long term solution would be to fix apt-get and gnome-app-install to remove unnecessary automatically installed dependencies automatically. I think the best short term solution is to include the desktop file in xchat-gnome and not in xchat-gnome-common, adding xchat-gnome task. ** Attachment added: "Error Message" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5560476/Screenshot-cannot_launch_entry.png ** Also affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Also affects: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Changed in: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed ** Changed in: gnome-app-install (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => Undecided Status: Confirmed => Unconfirmed -- Uninstalling package with Add/Remove didn't remove it from menu https://launchpad.net/bugs/77095 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
