Now that I've disabled composting, the text in Krunner shows up in the text field (where it was missing in my previous screenshot) but it does not show up under the icons! Additionally, it can be seen in the screenshot that my panel is showing up blank even though it is configured with the Kmenu, taskbar, network manager, and system tray. When I click on the Kmenu I get only a black rectangle (visible in the screenshot) where the menu should appear.
