Public bug reported:

I've seen a lot of similar problems, but i can't find any that matches
my exact case.

I've done a few tweaks and the Suspend feature now actually works, but
when i try to resume i can see the pointer but i can't do anything else.
ctrl+alt+backspace doesn't work and the only solution is a hard reboot
(or a RSEIUB combination).

Hibernation didn't use to work. A few moments ago i tried to "sudo
hibernate" and the power turned off, i could see the disk light on, but
when i turned the power on again, it just booted normally, it didn't
resume any applications.

I'm using Ubuntu Edgy with an ATI card, fglrx drivers installed .
Everything else is running smoothly
