Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: sysvinit
SO heres my /etc/network/interfaces:
auto lo
auto eth0
auto eth0:0
iface lo inet loopback
address 127.0.0.1
netmask 255.0.0.0
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.6.100.26
netmask 255.255.254.0
gateway 10.6.100.1
iface eth0:0 inet static
address 172.19.1.26
netmask 255.248.0.0
and my resolv.conf just contains two nameserver entries.
Whenever my ISP's network is down (and this happens a lot many times),
edgy (and dapper before it) has a problem with the the
/etc/init.d/networking script which takes about a minute to stop and
doesn't display FAILED status,
P.S. This is an install of Edgy itself not an upgrade from Dapper. BTW
the problem is on Dapper too.
** Affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
--
(Edgy) networking script does not fail when network is offline and takes at
least a minute to stop without a FAIL status.
