Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pidgin
After downloading and installing updates via Update Manager, I returned
online after Restart to find that all of my contacts were gone from my
Buddy List. Also, "Add Buddy +" and "Remove Buddy -" are shaded and
access is impossible to reinstall my buddies.
Solution: I changed my status earlier this evening. When I logged back
in after the update, my status was reset, or appeared to have been
reset, to "Available". However, upon right-clicking on tray icon and
changing my status from there, even though it didn't show me making a
change, all of my buddies suddenly reappeared.
