The code you posted assigns /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:02:06.0/rf_kill to $KILL, when I do echo 1 > $KILL (under root permissions) I lose the signal in less than a second. I can get it back with echo 0 > $KILL - that is the same as on your side.
