I've retested on Jaunty with the same results. This time I've also checked what happens with compiz+gtk-window-decorator, and with metacity alone (screenshots attached). Metacity seems to get the window borders right, but mind that compiz+gtk-window-decorator is the default in Ubuntu.
However, in no case the normal gksudo dialog is shown; the window should be borderless and the background be dimmed. The window does try to steal focus from everything else, but it doesn't quite succeed. It seems to me that nautilus-share is calling gksudo with the wrong parameters. By the way, with metacity I got the following complaints when I tried to focus away from the gksudo dialog: Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x1200020 () Window manager warning: meta_window_activate called by a pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed. I don't know if this is related to the bug in question. ** Attachment added: "bad-gksudo-gtk-window-decorator.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24160455/bad-gksudo-gtk-window-decorator.png -- Odd gksudo dialogue when enabling samba shares https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
