Solved here as well. I basically did the same thing as Gus, except I
didn't know if I still had the original files so I just went to
creative's site and downloaded them again. When I ran sudo make, I
didn't get any errors. Then I installed it, rebooted, and sounds was
working again. Happy I don't have to use an outdated version of the
kernel anymore.
