Public bug reported:
Hello,
when you want to install Ubuntu you run the live CD and do the install.
your system may ends up with a system old enough to make you download
about 300Mb updates.
why should I install this outdated packages that was in the ISO in the
first place?!! the installer should have choice to search for updates
and get them from the internet instead of installing the outdated
packages from the iso.
The release: Ubuntu All
The package: ubiquity
I expected that the installer should be able to download the update and
install them immediately instead of the old packages on iso.
what happened is that the installer finished the install and after the
first connection to the internet it alerts that there is updates need to
be installed!!
I was adviced today to report this as a wishlist bug in #ubuntu-devel
best wishes
