REGRESSION: The Broadcom patch stabilizes my internal WIFI but causes a freeze with an external WiFi NIC.
DETAILS ---------- This morning I re-installed Intrepid on my DELL 1535 and applied all updates - system is now Intrepid up-to-date as of 2009-03-23. I followed dg's procedure (s/64/32/ in the wget and tar). Good news: Attempt to connect my WAP did NOT crash. Bad news: Could not connect to my WAP (but at least no crash). Really bad news: System froze as soon as I plugged in my external WiFi device. The external device is a "RetailPlus+" USB adapter. Caveat: patch rejected the hunk at line 22, but I ignored that since it is the line that covers the CVS check-in header. Suggestions for next steps welcome. -- Broadcom STA/wl driver causes random kernel panics https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292450 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
