So let me see if I understand what you are saying.
1. Compiz ON
2. Single physical screen
3. spreadsheet already existing
4. OOo not currently running
5. double click on spreadsheet document, eg on desktop
6. OOo opens with the splash screen on current desktop but with the spreadsheet
showing up on another desktop
Is the above right? If so I can't reproduce this on Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit.
