better. This bug is missing critical information for us to further investigate
the issue. Helpful would be:
1) Specific ubuntu release version (terminal: 'lsb_release -rd')
2) Version of update-manager (terminal: apt-cache policy update-manager)
Can you also try running the command as /usr/bin/dpkg --configure -a .
It should be impossible to uninstall dpkg, so maybe you have a
configuration issue with your shell so that dpkg can't be found in you
PATH environment variable. Thank you in advance.
