Ah, nevermind, we speak about intrepid here.
The problem is that the driver version 180 was not yet available when
intrepid was released, thus the package nvidia-180-modaliases was not
installed by default.
Since 180 is available in intrepid-updates, we need to add this
dependency to nvidia-common in intrepid-updates as well. This is fixed
in Jaunty, opening intrepid task.
