As the original reporter, I very much doubt that your issue (or two separate issues, in fact) would be related. I will try to offer my input, however.
1) To interpret your comment, I understand that you are opening files into an open Kate window from e.g. Konqueror. To reproduce, I opened a few files after each other from Konqueror to Kate. For the first file, Kate is started, and as is expected behaviour, is brought to focus. However, when opening multiple files, no new programs are started, and focus should not switch to Kate from Konqueror, and this is very much how it is supposed to work. (If we assume we want to open a number of files consecutively, it would be very cumbersome if Kate popped to the front all the time, obstructing what we were doing.) 2) I have trouble deciphering your issue with the window list. It is, however, apparently a completely separate issue that has no immediate connection to "focus follows mouse not setting focus to _desktop_". I kindly request you to not continue discussing this issue here. If it is of importance to you, opening a new report detailing what you are trying to do and what fails may be an option for you. -- "Focus Follows Mouse" doesn't set focus to Desktop https://launchpad.net/bugs/45837 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
