Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
I have a Dell Laptop using the fglrx driver. Its native resolution is
1920 x 1200. Often I will connect it to an external monitor. The
external monitor has a lower resolution (1680 x 1050).
When I try to change the resolution to 1680 x 1050 after boot up (and connected
to the external monitor), the screen will flash a few times and then stay at
1920 x 1200, which is too big for the monitor, so you get the virtual desktop
scrolling.
I can retry many times and it still won't work. But if I wait like 5
minutes after boot up, often it will then work.
