Ubuntu 8.10
System boots up into desktop but with no taskbars visible or any access
to programs. The desktop simply looks like a slideshow picture without
any borders or icons to initiate. Right clicking brings no results. The
only program that seems to work is the "capture screenshot" and only
after hitting every key on the keyboard. This occurred after updating
programs via update manager. One program failed to update being one of
the educational packages. Have attempted "esc" function in grub to fix
errors.
