Marking as a duplicate of bug 338640 because both are caused by OOo doing this
(pseudocode):
$basename = "foo"
$extension = "bar"
if ($basename exists) error!
else
$filename = $basename.$extension
save
The $filename = $basename.$extension should happen before the if
statement
