Hello TJ, I'm grateful that someone's looking at this.
Are you able to rename this bug to something more appropriate? "Sandisk Sansa clip/furze doesn't mount in Hardy - usb connect issues" Is a suggestion. I have Hardy installed, and because it's broken a large number of things, I restored a backup of Gutsy on another partition. (Never thought I'd be happy to have Gutsy back) So I'll run this test under both releases and attach the results. Another thing that may be relevant is that the Sansa Clip has a usb mode switch, either MTP, MSC or Auto Detect. This may be effecting the usb timing in some way, so people should report it. Settings > USB Mode > MSC (used throughout in my case) http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=announcements&message.id=96&jump=true Finally, the firmware version on the Clip may be relevant so should be reported: Settings > System Info > Version:V01.01.30A I also futzed with the mount point in some gnome thing so that it would mount at /media/SANSA instead of a path full of spaces. > So, now the explanation is over, what we need is to gather that > information to help look for commonalities. Please attach the reports > from the following commands as single archives to make it easier to > analyse. There's a gutsy report ("just works"), hardy plugged in but ignored, and hardy after modprobe -r ehci_hcd so it mounted. Happy to do additional reports if they'll help, Brad ** Attachment added: "system-report-gutsy.tar.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24355671/system-report-gutsy.tar.gz ** Attachment added: "system-report-hardy.tar.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24355672/system-report-hardy.tar.gz ** Attachment added: "system-report-hardy-post-modprobe-r.tar.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24355673/system-report-hardy-post-modprobe-r.tar.gz -- usb connect problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
