thanks for the info. I marked this for linux-source-2.6.17 (for edgy),
but if you can try feisty[1] while it is in alpha and reproduce the
issue, I think there might be a better chance that a developer will try
to fix this[2].

Also, please let us know if you reported this bug in other bugzillas
(for debian etc) with their links. thanks again

[2] just in case, if you will be trying feisty, wanted to remind you
that a shutdown after overheating may very well damage your hardware
physically, for good.
