Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

I have a broadcom 4328 wifi that works in a wpa2-psk aes encrypted
network using network manager on intrepid with the STA wl.o driver, and
on windows vista (both on other partitions). On jaunty, network manager
freezes the system completely when I try to connect to this same router,
when using the broadcom STA wl.o driver. I have to power off using the
power off button, because Alt-SysRq-REISUB does nothing. So, I switched
to the ndiswrapper driver (probably similar to what is working ok on
vista). But, although the system no longer freezes, it also fails to
connect.

I've tried and can successfully connect jaunty to an unencrypted
network, and also to a network with wep 128 encryption. But, it won't
work on jaunty when trying to connect to wpa2-psk (aes).

I've tried both gnome and kde network manager and the behavior is the
same. It will not connect on either.

I've tried the STA wl.o driver on jaunty on both gnome and kde, and both
resulted in hard freezes. But, the STA wl.o driver works on intrepid
without freezing.
