For the beta image the syslog patch below was applied manually to the imx51 image to overcome the huge logs, but indeed it isnt solved on the kernel layer and occasionally causes lockups of the device. To get proper syslog messages for tracking down the issue, please unapply the patch manually and restart klogd and syslogd. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/beta/syslog.diff
