  What I expexted to happen :
  
  hpmount -r /dev/sdb10 worked perfectly to mount my external USB drive
  HFS+ formatted
  
  
  What happened :
  
  hpmount /dev/sdb10 (the same but read/write now) crashed the same hard disk 
drive
  now, nor Ubuntu or MacOS X are able to read and even repair the disk
  
  
  It seems the same problem on this package were already discussed in various 
forums from a very old date
