On boots when sound works fine, I can access my soundcard simply by issuing: $ alsamixer
However, on boots where sound does not work properly, this command accesses not my soundcard, but rather my TV tuner: Card: SAA7134 In order to access my soundcard on such boots, I have to issue: $ alsamixer -c 1 Card: VIA 8235 Is there a way to set which of these devices is supposed to be the default?
