I confirm this problem with clean Installed Jaunty Beta (vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic kernel). I have got a similar Toshiba Satellite L300 notebook. See my bugreport with https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349641, but I think my bugreport is a duplicated report.
