Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gparted
When I want to install Ubuntu Intrepid or Ubuntu Jaunty beta, I can't go
further than selecting my keyboard layout. The partition manager refuses
to load.
Similarly, when I start gparted (0.3.8-1ubuntu2) through the command line, I
get the gparted screen that continues to say 'Scanning all devices...'.
However, when I start parted, I can manage to get the partition layout:
(parted) print /dev/sda
Model: ATA TOSHIBA MK1031GA (scsi)
Disk /dev/sda: 100GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: msdos
Number Start End Size Type File system Flags
1 32.3kB 3150MB 3150MB primary fat32
2 3150MB 66.1GB 62.9GB primary fat32 boot, lba
3 66.2GB 66.7GB 526MB extended lba
5 66.2GB 66.7GB 526MB logical
