Public bug reported:
while setting up a USB zboard MERC gaming keyboard with ubuntu 6.10.
This keyboard has a "gaming" pad on the left side.
all of the keys will show keycodes using xev but "some" of the gaming
keys do not register keyup/keydown in the same fashion as the others.
This was first noticed after mapping all of the keycodes using xmodmap,
certain keys would not autorepeat if held down.
Using scankey -s from the console shows keyups and keydowns registering
normally on all keys.
However, xev while in X shows some of the keys sending keyup/keydown as
soon as the key is pressed and no keyup being sent after the key press
as it should be. This causes these keys to be unusable for their
intended functionality.
one of the keys in question is using keycode 231.
