The Vuze built-in updater will install the updated Vuze inside your home
directory (~/.azureus).  The system Vuze package will not be affected
(so, for example, Synaptic will still show the old version).  All my
workaround does is let you run the copy of Vuze that was installed in
your home directory, rather than the copy that was installed by the
package manager.
