You may need to navigate to the directory in the terminal, when you get
the permission denied error while switching to the directly "sudo"
before issuing the command to switch.  Also, if you can not "gedit" the
file, you may need to "sudo gedit" inside the terminal.  Please reply
back if you require more detailed instructions or have any questions.
