I was having this problem with kubuntu-9.04-beta-alternate-amd64.iso Reading the comments here I noted the person who said they burned using DAO and it worked. Strange, but I decided to give it a shot. It worked for me also.
Details. I burned the ISO originally with K3B 1.0.5 (the version currently part of Jaunty's beta) using (i think) all default settings. It was burned to a Maxell CD-RW disk. The second time time I reburned the exact same ISO image to the exact same CD-RW disk, again using K3B. The only difference was that I changed the "Write method" dropdown from "Auto" to "DAO", and I changed the write speed from "Auto" to "4x". This seems strange to me. I suppose it could be a coincidence, and the first time there was a bad burn for some reason. But this is my experience nevertheless. -- Buffer I/O error on device sr0 Logical Block XXXXXX in Intrepid Ibex Alpha 5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/266951 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
