Not 100% sure that it is the same bug, but webcam stopped working for me with jaunty.
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 05a9:0511 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV511 WebCam It has previously worked with ekiga, cheese when configured as v4l1 device. Now, it still works with xawtv. Cheese does not show it in the list of available devices. Ekiga does show it as a v4l2 device, but when it tries to use it it prints "libv4l2: error getting capabilities: Invalid argument" to the terminal, and opens a window saying: ===== Error while accessing video device /dev/video1 There was an error while opening the device. In case it is a pluggable device it may be sufficient to reconnect it. If not, or if it still is not accessible, please check your permissions and make sure that the appropriate driver is loaded. A moving logo will be transmitted during calls. Notice that you can always transmit a given image or the moving logo by choosing "Picture" as video plugin and "Moving logo" or "Static picture" as device. ===== If this is a different bug, please advice where to report it.
