Binary package hint: friendly-recovery
When selecting the new (really cool!) recovery mode in grub and choosing
"root with network" in the menu, it is not possible to run X afterwards.
I guess the usb drivers are missing because neither the touchpad,
keyboard nor the usb mouse works.
Suggestion: Add a "root with network and usb" entry to the menu.
