That command line from /usr/share/applications/gthumb-import.desktop might work, but it would first have to make gthumb Recommends or even Depends upon gvfs-bin, in the first place, for this to remotely have a chance to work.
Even then, installing this missing dependency doesn't produce the desired result. At best, it makes that command line recipe stop failing to find 'gvfs-mount'.
