I don't think this is a duplicate of bug 277211. I tried turning my
bluetooth off and on without success.
Also, it used to work in Feisty, and worked fine after I did dist-
upgrade to Intrepid. It stopped working after a later upgrade (I'm not
exacty sure which).
My bluetooth adapter is listed in dmesg output (as in my original post).
I also ran solid-bluetooth and got this:
$ solid-bluetooth listadapters
solid-bluetooth(20017) Solid::Control::ManagerBasePrivate::loadBackend: Backend
loaded: "BlueZ"
solid-bluetooth(20017) Solid::Control::BluetoothManager::buildDeviceList: UBI

solid-bluetooth(20017)
Solid::Control::BluetoothManagerPrivate::findRegisteredBluetoothInterface:

solid-bluetooth(20017)
Solid::Control::BluetoothManagerPrivate::findRegisteredBluetoothInterface:

solid-bluetooth(20017)
Solid::Control::BluetoothManagerPrivate::findRegisteredBluetoothInterface:

Solid::Control::BluetoothManagerPrivate::findRegisteredBluetoothInterface:
BackendIface created
UBI = '/org/bluez/hci0'
solid-bluetooth(20017)
Solid::Control::BluetoothManagerPrivate::_k_interfaceDestroyed: Interface

I believe this is more likely kbluetooth4 issue.
