I will soon have the opportunity to confirm this bug using 6.10 on a different machine.
If it is still an issue, I find it incredulous that such bugs are still being marked as only medium severity. This bugs leaves an unbootable machine - not just the new install but whatever was on the other disk as well. It may also, as described in bug 32357 (which even more bizarrely is marked as wishlist), cause dataloss.
