Can neither hibernate or suspend. X doesn't recover and I could not reset X manually. When I try to resume from hibernate the video shows a screen of red, white, green, blue and repeats continuously. I'm using the NVidia 173 proprietary driver when this happens. But using Ubuntu's Nvidia driver doesn't allow hibernate/suspend to work either.
I tried turning off networking and wireless from the desktop, and invoked hibernate, but that failed. For this laptop (Dell Latitude D800 upgraded with Dell Precision M60 BIOS A09) I installed Ubuntu 9.04 beta on top of a customized production Ubuntu 8.10 installation. To get rid of potential variables should I do a clean install of 9.04 beta and test again. I want to wait a bit and see if someone has found a solution before I reinstall. I tried to execute /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/suspend_test and it failed on execution of the first test. I had to re-power the laptop. I've never had success getting hibernate or suspend to work on dell laptops models: precision m60, latitude d800, latitude 8200. -- laptop fails to resume after hibernation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/350020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
