Please forgive me for being ignorant of these matters, but I'm not really sure how to run a filesystem check and a memory test. I recently downloaded this version and the most recent version of Kubuntu and both seem to have this (or a very similar) problem.
Also, I have an older version of Ubuntu (from August 2008) that works just fine and which I am able to do all updates. I have a spare 80Gb hard drive for my laptop so I wanted to keep it with some stable version of Linux. Thanks. ---- Michael Vogt <[email protected]> wrote: > This sounds like a memory or filesystem corruption problem.
