Thank you for your report. If you could issue the following commands and attach the resulting log files: uname -a > uname-a.log cat /proc/version_signature > version.log dmesg > dmesg.log sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log Thank you, Jon -- System freeze in Ubuntu 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351638 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “linux” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Upgraded to 8.10 (from 8.04?) yesterday. Have installed all updates, but the system keeps hanging either while web browsing in Firefox (including writing into this info box!) or file browsing and opening text files. No other software running. Can continue moving mouse pointer, but no clicking or keyboard activity is effective, only a hard reset has an effect. Hardware info: AMD 64 x2 5000+, 2GB RAM, 40GB IDE HDD. Sorry for lack of detail, I'm trying to convert from M$ Windows (!) and haven't much clue about UNIX or LINUX. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24535138/dmesg.log ** Attachment added: "lspci-vvnn.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24535139/lspci-vvnn.log ** Attachment added: "uname-a.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24535140/uname-a.log ** Attachment added: "version.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24535141/version.log -- System freeze in Ubuntu 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351638 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
