While it may solve/mitigate some of the complaints. It will also expose/aggravate a bug in Metacity with multiple workspaces. If a window is minimized on one workspace, and the user is on any other workspace, clicking on the window in the window list on the panel does nothing other than flash the entry. The use has to be on the same workspace the window was minimized on in order to restore it. I've verified that this is still a problem with up to date Jaunty. Reported here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=571588 This is one of the prime reasons replacing Metacity with Openbox is one of the first things I do after install. Then there's also the fact that the default configuration of the window list is to only show the windows for the current workspace. So, what happens when a user is on workspace 1, the window opens minimized, and then the user switches away from the workspace without noticing it? Are we then going to set the window to be on all workspaces minimized? It may just be me (though I seriously doubt it), but this seems like an awful lot of effort for something that will only annoy users. -- Jamin W.
