Hi again, I checked and the bug seems to be easily reproducible with a live CD (I used http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20090329/jaunty-desktop-i386.iso ): Boot, start openoffice and edit a text in English -> spellchecking works fine Install OpenMedSpell extension (see link above) and restart openoffice -> spellchecking flags all words as incorrect. Same for German (install language pack first) and installing hunspell-de-med (from universe). It therefore seems to have nothing to do Jonathan's or my install...
