This is the only gripe I have with debian packages. You can not build a
32bit app against the 64bit arch unless you force the issue, this would
be the same for alien that would use the 64bit arch to rebuild the
package. This isn't a bug at Ubuntu's level unfortunately but instead
an upstream issue. Although the ia32libs exist it is not the same as
having a 32bit arch, it is at this point when I gave up.
