Public bug reported:

Running Jaunty beta, I frequently experience lockups, where a program
will stop responding to input for a short period of time. This is -very-
disruptive. I'm not sure exactly what causes it. It happens in Pidgin,
and happens whenever I save a file in Emacs, which suggests it might be
filesystem or kernel related.

Kernel version:
Linux velociraptor 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 27 09:00:52 UTC
2009 i686 GNU/Linux

I am using ReiserFS (3) for / and /home, so it could be a bug in that
driver.

I upgraded from an Intrepid system.
