This is still a problem in the Kubuntu Jaunty beta even on i386. Note this used to work in one of the earlier releases (Hardy? it was a version that _didn't_ use Cairo for PDF export, no version using Cairo has worked properly), and I routinely SSH my files to a machine running an older Kubuntu release when I generate PDFs in inkscape.
EPS doesn't support transparency, so you don't expect it to work there. But PDF 1.4 does, and so this should work. Furthermore, the expected "failure" mode would be to make the object opaque, but instead the object is simply missing from the PDF. Another example (rendered from Jaunty) is attached, including the SVG file. For me this is easily the #1 problem with Inkscape in Kubuntu. From some googling around I did a while ago, it seems to work properly for users of other distributions, however. ** Attachment added: "inkscape_transparency_bug.svg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24565762/inkscape_transparency_bug.svg -- Inkscape doesn't export transparent elements correctly to eps or pdf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/333783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
