I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 beta and network worked but plasma-network-widget showed unmanaged, I thought beacues ia had handly modified interfaces and resolv.conf. I decided to installa fresh 9.04 due the fact I was upgrading from a long time. I was very disappointd to see netork work via dhcp but with big problem, I tried to configure network via plasm widget with any succes, then I uninstalled Networkmanager stuff and configured network via interfaces and resolv.conf. I read around about this problem many people solve it installing wicd. I think this bug is extremely serious for common users, maybe you are understimating it?
