Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gajim
Due to another bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gajim/+bug/349661), my gajim configuration was lost. The default configuration recreated by gajim set spell checking language to simply "en", while the environment LANG variable is properly set on my system to en_US.UTF-8. This results in several US English words being marked as incorrectly spelled, as it appears to default to the British spelling. I can find no means through the normal UI (outside the advanced configuration) to set this as it needs to be, "en_US". The language selection dialog for each contact does not list anything other than "en". Additionally, once it is properly set to "en_US" through the advanced configuration, checking each contact shows no language selected for them.
