The cause of this is Alacarte (menu editor) is showing a .desktop item which has NoDisplay=true. This field specifically states this item should not have a menu: http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-latest.html
However, so many Ubuntu packages have NoDisplay set (e.g. file-roller which has a patch to add it) that I wonder if NoDisplay is being abused for other purposes. In any case remote desktop has set the .desktop file correctly according to the freedesktop.org spec and alacarte should be correctly ignoring it. Reassigning to the alacarte package. ** Changed in: alacarte (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: vinagre => alacarte Importance: Low => Medium ** Summary changed: - Duplicate Remote Desktop Viewer Menu Item entries + Alacarte incorrectly displays .desktop files with NoDisplay=true -- Alacarte incorrectly displays .desktop files with NoDisplay=true https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
