Public bug reported:

I set the IBM T42 laptop to hibernate in the case I lose battery power.
It hibernates slightly after I plugged in my power cord much to my
annoyance. So anyway, I wait for it to hibernate. It gives me the
blinking "_" line for awhile then it throws two error messages one
saying something like Device 0.0.0.0 failed to properly thaw. (I always
forget to write down everything it actually says.) After it has gone
into hibernation, and I turn it back on. I get the Ubuntu boot gui with
the "waking up" line . The dreaded kernal panic of doom sets in after
15 seconds. I think I've had this problem since maybe version 7 or 8.
At one point the hibernation worked almost perfectly back in either
version 6 or 7. Thank you for any and all help. Cheers.

(They slightly fixed this problem by turning off the Wifi, it appears
that the updates applied destroyed that flimsy solution.)
