Public bug reported:
I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 in my HP DV6000 laptop. With a Wifi chipset
broadcom BCM4312.
I started using wired network without a problem, when I switched to a
WiFi network to join a WPA2 encrypted network, the network manager tried
to connect to it, and after 1 minute it crashed the kernel, there was no
keyboard or mouse respond, and the Caps Lock indicator was flashing.
I've followed the many potential solutions found on the web however the
problem still happens.
