Thanks a lot for your reply.

So it seems that your keyboard is assigned to the synaptics driver
because hal sees it with the capability "input.touchpad" (there is an
fdi file to does this assignment input.touchpad => synaptics driver).

I need to investigate a bit more on this issue, so could you please go
to bug 351059
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hal/+bug/351059) and add the
output of:

- /proc/bus/input/devices on your PS3 (with your keyboard linked)
- /proc/bus/input/devices on your other computer (also with your keyboard 
linked)
